Mates

See, your mates have gotten married.
See, majority of your mates have their masters.
Your mates have kids.
Your mates are doing well in their chosen fields.
Your mates this, your mates that.
This is a very annoying and depressing phrase used in the part of the world where I come from( 🇳🇬 ).
It’s like when people use that phrase, it’s to spit the person or make the person feel disappointed in his or herself .               And when people use it on themselves, it’s like they are trying to validate people’s assumptions of them, or just being  merely ungrateful.
Just because you were at the same point, or same level with some set of people at a stage in your life doesn’t make you “mates”. It just happened that you people guys were opportune to face that phase of your life together.                                         In the real sense they would always be someone better than you and someone you are Better than, and the circle continues.
So instead of beating yourself or letting people’s unwanted comments get to you, why don’t you just focus, appreciate, and learn from the phase you are in.
It’s high time people understand that their destinies are different.
Learn to trust Gods timing.

Ecclesiastes 9:11

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
