Pilates
This week has been busy for me, between commuting to work, closing out on task personally and at work, a lot has been going on. To make matters worse, the traffic these days has been painful, I left for work early this week just to beat the morning traffic, but there was still traffic. Don’t even get me started on the traffic in the evenings. Feels like ones the clock goes back and we begin to experience longer nights and shorter days there is just weird traffic, let’s not even go into Christmas shopping traffic. A trip that will usually take 10mins can take you minimum 20mins if care is not taken.
Anyways, when I commute back-to-back like this, my back and my right knee get the hit. Normally, I avoid this by going to the gym but with the time I got home this week, the gym was the last thing on my mind. Best way to make sure I work out when I have busy weeks is to register for a class. That way I understand I have a commitment and I need to show up, plus spaces are limited for the classes and I don’t want to take a spot and not show up knowing fully well someone else could have gotten the spot.
This week I registered for Pilates. With the classes at my gym, you honestly don’t know the instructor you will get when you register, it changes every-time. The person that took the class this time, I have never taken Pilates with him, I have taken other classes with him, but Pilates? never, I normally dread his other classes, because this man gives instructions and laughs while we growl in pain. Like who does that?
I wasn’t sure what to expect because this was my first time in his Pilates class. Deep down I needed a routine that will focus on my back and whole leg and guess what, that’s what 70 percent of the class was about. Talk about feeling seen by God. At the end of the class my body was relaxed and relived.
At the middle of the class I began to smile though I was in pain, I became aware of how intentional my Heavenly Father is, what are the odds that on this day, the particular area where I needed a good stretch would be the main focus of the class, I have gone for lots of Pilate classes and the routine is not always the same, hence my excitement.
God saw His baby needed a good stretch on her back and knees and that’s what I got. I cannot help but be thankful of how intentional God is about me, even the seemly trivial things He ensures I get the best. Its 2 days after and my body is still thankful for that 45mins Pilates class.
We serve a God, who sees, hears and knows, He is aware of everything that concerns you, the Bible says in Luke 12:7“He knows the number of hair on our hair and we are worth more than many sparrows”, Psalm 33:13-15 “From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind;
from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth”
What have you experienced, that reminded you, you are always seen by God?
